Eagle Creek flows from Wahtum Lake in the northern foothills of Mt. Hood down to where it joins with the mighty Columbia River. The 13-mile trail is my favorite outdoors place on earth. I've hiked on the trail more times than I could ever remember.
As I settled into married life, all of my wife's good cooking settled into my middle.
The formation behind me is near High Bridge, which is a short metal and wood bridge over a deep gorge. The rocks behind me always reminded me of a large cathedral, complete with a small pulpit.
