New and Old Things at SpringsOfWater

In the ten years this site has been up, it’s gone through a lot of changes. The invention of blogs and the availability of free blog software has really put the site on the map. Before, getting to stuff was difficult.

Currently, SpringsOfWater.com is a repository of inspirational material for Latter-day Saints who want to read about or seek support for all sorts of difficult things we might deal with. It has always been that, but now it is organized and maintained via WordPress software. We’ve been up for over a year on this platform and it is working nicely. Our readership is up and I can even track it better.

One new feature is the Like control. At the end of each article, you can click a thumbs-up icon that says that you like the article. For some who don’t want to take the time to respond, it’s a way of letting the author know you appreciated what was said.

We continue to be the home page for the Clean-LDS and related mailing lists for those struggling with pornography addiction and their spouses. Those lists have been in decline as far as readership is concerned, but they’ve been around for ten years and have developed some good communities. Please consider joining if it is something you need.

Our sister site, Latter-day Sexual Recovery, is still up and running with a blog and support forums. The support forums have also been in decline for awhile, but still has a nice core of participants. More inspirational articles can be found there, more specifically on the topics of sexual addiction recovery and precepts.

The best new thing on SpringsOfWater is the addition of Eric Chaffey as a permanent blogger. His insights into life are thoughtful and inspiring. Take some time to look them over.

More than merely being open to other authors, we are specifically interested in blog articles about depression, mental health, divorce, singleness, disability, grief, and any other issue that affects people, from a Latter-day Saint perspective. Anyone desiring to be a guest blogger should use the Contact Us form and let us know. Tell us what you would like to write about and a brief outline.
